WHY SOY WAX?

Soy wax is awesome sauce, and here are a few reasons why we choose to work with it.

• Soy wax is a natural, and renewable resource. Plus, our soy is grown in the USA! 
• Soy is biodegradable. The next time you have an ooopsie moment with your candle, it can easily be cleaned up hot water and soap. No more stains on your floors!
• Unlike paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum (a refined gasoline product, yuck!) soy wax burns clean and for a longer period of time. And you aren't burning petroleum fumes in your home, so that's cool too. 

WHY DOES MY CANDLE LOOK BLOTCHY/UNEVEN ? 

If you see what appears to be a "gap" between the wax and the glass jar, or white speckling on the edge of the candle, you're seeing what we call "spotting" or "frosting". These are both totally normal characteristics of soy wax, and frosting is in fact a good indicator that the wax is actually 100% soy wax (not some yucky blend of soy + paraffin wax). Frosting and spotting occur when candles are exposed to extreme temperature changes during shipment. We will never send out a candle with major frosting or spotting, but we have no control over what occurs in transit. No need to worry though, frosting and spotting will not affect how your candles burn! Because we can't control Mother Nature, we are unable to replace candles that have frosted in transit. After your candle has solidify, it may have a "bumpy" top, which is totally normal and just another characteristic of soy wax!

WHAT'S THE PROPER BURNING METHOD OF BIG WICK ENERGY CANDLES?

For the 1st burn, make sure to allow enough time for wax to melt and reach the edges. This will ensure an even burn for the next time you light it. Always trim wick to 1/4" before each lighting. Burn in 2-3 hour increments, but no more than 4 hours. Do not touch glass while candle is burning, because that shit will be hot! Keep candle away from children, fur babies, and drafts because nothing ruins a good time like lighting the lamp shade on fire. 

HOW FRAGRANT ARE THE CADLES?

Big Wick Energy candles uses the maximum fragrance load soy wax can hold. Our 12oz candles is best lit in smaller rooms such as bedroom, bathroom, dining room, and small living room.
